EPICYCLE GEB: ROBERTO BLUM
Modern thought relies a lot in the nature of mathematics, the symbols don't say anything but at the same time they say everything. The old word introduced numbers, the classical world introduced proof and the modern world introduced duration and permanence. All mathematical statements are tautological, which means that are forever valid and true by themselves. As Galileo said, "Nature is written in mathematics". Nature answers: true or false to experiments.
LEARNING PROCESSES
What's my role in the world? That's the question Daniel Herbruger asked us while presenting the ACTON ACADEMY WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS, it's about this new culture of education. The main questions that I had are:
-Why should we wait to follow our passions?
-What's the importance of having a resume?
-Why is it that we keep on learning with this system? Why haven't we evolved in education as in everything else?
-What is true learning? Why is it meaningful?
EUCLID
We demonstrated what we know, we had really intense allopoiesis moments!
DRAWING
I learned to discover proportions and perspectives. Also, that lights and shadows are very important because they give "form" to things. We also learned about the point of fugue, which is very useful to draw.
CLASSICAL STUDIES: MENO
The core question that Socrates is asking is: what is virtue? It's interesting to think about that because I really don't know what virtue is, I understand what's virtuous...but from where does it come from? Another point mentioned is that there's an importance in how we transmit our message, we have a different approach with our friends and with strangers. Socrates presents the idea of building on others opinions or thoughts. While communicating, we need precision of language and definitions. I found really curious Socrates' explanation of learning, which is the process to knowing something. Our soul is recollecting knowledge, which means that our soul is already knowledgable and in human life its only recollecting it. I'm not really sure if I believe this explanation. Would that mean that our soul always existed and will always exist?
DRAMA
We read through the script of "Twelve Angry Man" and it's really interesting to see how each of us portrays our character. We also made some posture activities and I learned that posture is very important because it reflects how are you feeling about yourself.
CELEBRATE WHAT'S RIGHT
HOW CAN WE FIX WHAT'S WRONG?
REFLECTION OF THE WEEK
What are the origins of everything? Why does the Universe exists? Why do we exist? What's our essence as human beings? Do we really have a soul? If we do, where do they go and where do they come from? We all have different souls, I mean, we all think differently. Why? Are discoveries influenced by our point of view? How could we know that what we know is true or right? Then, does theory limits our knowledge? Or, does it open ways? How does my spectacles affect how I view the world? Are we ever getting to objective truth?

CELEBRATE WHAT'S RIGHT
- Proactivity, we don't wait for perfect circumstances in order to act.
- We are embracing uncertainty and mistakes
- There's a lot of serendipity going on, we are living memories and remembering
- We are communicating how passionate we are about what we do
- MPC is Universe back in university
HOW CAN WE FIX WHAT'S WRONG?
- We are not keeping it up with our reading, which isn't helping on having meaningful dialogues
- It would be great if we shared our understanding with an open mind
- Our culture rubrics are wonderful but what's the next step?
- Be more flexible to changes
- Patience with others, remember the power of constructing together
